Hello! Brightside Produce is Emily Yarra and Michael Kobier. We are a young couple giving biological regenerative farming a go in the Canberra region.
Brightside Produce is nestled between the beautiful Tinderry Mountains to the West and Tallaganda State Forest to the East, about an hour and 20 minutes South-East of Canberra. We farm at around 950 metres above sea level in a cool-temperate climate and produce a diverse range of heirloom vegetables on under and acre of land. We also have free range laying hens on our pasture.
Our interest in learning to farm grew out of our travels in North America and Europe, where we spent a year volunteering on various different types of organic farms. We both really enjoyed being outside and working with our hands and the sense of satisfaction that we got from watching things grow. For us, farming for a living provides us with a positive and proactive way to help our community and the environment.
We are committed to stewarding our land in a way that builds soil, protects the native ecosystem and leaves it better than we found it for the next generation.
